As the UK's leading Social Enterprise, we move lives forward every day by building, managing and supporting thriving Communities.

From new homes, social housing and student accommodation to leisure, education and Community initiatives, our work makes a positive difference to millions of People across the UK.

And that takes People who care about doing the right thing. People who are ambitious, ready to grow and motivated to make a difference through the work they do.

We're looking for Colleagues who bring energy, curiosity and ownership. People who enjoy being challenged, support those around them and want to keep raising the bar. Because when we perform at our best, we create more opportunities to invest in our Customers, our Communities and each other.

Experience matters, but it's only part of the story. If you share our values and want to build a career where your work has real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

More about your role

As a Community Connector, you'll be out and about in our Communities, building relationships with Customers, colleagues, local organisations and partners. You'll listen to what matters to people, understand local needs and help connect Customers with the support, activities and opportunities available to them.

You'll build strong local partnerships, bring people and organisations together and help turn good ideas into community-led projects and activities. From supporting wellbeing and tackling inequalities to developing volunteering opportunities and strengthening local networks, you'll help create the conditions for our Communities to thrive.

You'll also gather feedback and evidence the difference our work is making, helping us learn, improve and make sure our social impact activity responds to what Customers and Communities actually need.

As part of your role you will be required to have a big presence in our community around Huntingdonshire. When you are not required to work in the community, you can either work from home or in one of our PfP offices.

More about you

You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and building relationships. You'll understand some of the challenges our Customers and Communities face and be confident working with charities, community organisations, local services and colleagues.

You'll need to be organised, proactive and comfortable working independently, while being part of a wider Places Impact team. Most importantly, you'll be curious, approachable and passionate about helping people and Communities realise their potential.

Essential Criteria

  • Awareness of the challenges and barriers faced by our Customers, with a commitment to supporting their needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with local organisations.

To be successful in this role you will require excellent, sensitive people skills with a good understanding of how to help people reach more of their potential and be able to build on good community knowledge.

What you'll get

We know rewarding work deserves rewarding benefits. That's why, alongside a competitive salary, you'll have access to a package designed to support you at work and beyond.

You'll receive:

  • Competitive salary, with a salary review yearly
  • Pension with matched contributions up to 7%
  • Excellent holiday package – 35 days annual leave with the option to buy or sell leave
  • Cashback plan for healthcare costs – up to £500 saving per year
  • A bonus scheme for all colleagues at up to 2%
  • Training and development
  • Extra perks including huge discounts and offers from shops, cinemas and much more.
