Lifeline & Telecare Installer
At Places for People, you're more than just a colleague. We're a social enterprise driven by a simple belief: everyone deserves a place to call home and the support to live independently. We're looking for a compassionate and customer-focused Lifeline & Telecare Installer to join our Homes Plus team and make a real difference in people's lives every day.
The Role
As a Lifeline & Telecare Installer, you'll be the first face many of our customers see when accessing our service. You'll visit customers in their homes, installing and programming telecare equipment that helps people remain safe, independent, and connected within their communities.
Acting as an ambassador for the service, you'll take the time to understand each customer's needs, demonstrate how equipment works, and provide reassurance to customers and their families. You'll also carry out maintenance visits, fault finding, equipment collections, and reassessments to ensure our customers continue receiving the right support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Installing, programming, and testing Lifeline and Telecare equipment in customers' homes.
- Conducting risk assessments to ensure equipment is installed safely and effectively.
- Demonstrating equipment and services to customers, family members, and carers.
- Carrying out maintenance visits, battery replacements, equipment upgrades, and fault resolution.
- Completing customer reassessments to ensure services continue meeting individual needs.
- Maintaining accurate customer records and updating relevant databases and monitoring systems.
- Liaising with external agencies, including Social Services, NHS partners, and family members, to support customer wellbeing.
- Responding to customer enquiries and providing excellent service at every interaction.
- Managing vehicle stock levels and ensuring equipment is available for installations and repairs.
- Supporting safeguarding responsibilities and reporting concerns appropriately.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys helping others and is comfortable working independently in customers' homes.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working in a customer-facing role, ideally within housing, care, telecare, healthcare, or community services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence using technology and learning technical equipment systems.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to assess situations, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and lone working principles.
- A full UK driving licence.
