Are you a practical, hands-on person who enjoys fixing problems, keeping things running smoothly and taking pride in the environment around you?
We have a great opportunity for an Maintenance Operative to join our Estate Management and Facilities team at Beaufort Park, London.
This is a varied role where you'll be out and about across the development, helping to ensure the communal areas and facilities are maintained to a high standard. From minor repairs and planned checks to cleaning equipment, testing and general upkeep, you'll play an important part in making Beaufort Park a pleasant, safe and well-maintained place for residents to call home.
What you'll be doing
No two days will necessarily look the same. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs, including walls, ceilings, light covers, door closers, hinges, pavements and slabs.
- Completing monthly water and electricity meter readings, emergency light testing and fire smoke head testing.
- Maintaining communal and external areas, including jet washing, commercial window cleaning and seasonal upkeep.
- Carrying out weekly play area inspections and supporting the upkeep of communal areas across the development.
- Using onsite machinery to undertake communal carpet cleaning and completing other cleaning tasks as required.
- Supporting contractors and maintenance colleagues, including assisting the electrician when required.
- Monitoring equipment and stores through weekly audits and replenishing supplies as needed.
Essential Criteria?
We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility for getting jobs done. You'll need:
- A good practical knowledge of general maintenance, machinery, carpet-cleaning equipment and power tools.
- The ability to identify and resolve problems while following health and safety guidance, SOPs and risk assessments.
- A resourceful, self-motivated and flexible approach to your work.
- The ability to work confidently on your own as well as alongside colleagues, contractors and other maintenance workers.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to support the wider team when required.
- The physical capability to undertake a hands-on role, including working with machinery and moving heavy equipment.
