Are you looking for your next role to bridge the gap between the service desk and the infrastructure team? Derwent Living part of the Places for People are recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer to join our small team based in Derby.
What your role will be
You will have a unique role supporting approximately 150 service users. Joining our small first line support team, you will work in collaboration with the Infrastructure Team to resolve technical issues. You will work to set SLA’s, as well as provide additional support and training for Service Desk engineers where required to enhance first time fix rate. Your role will also identify and deploy system enhancements, introduce service improvements and deploy new or upgrade hardware and software systems when required. There will also be project work for you to get involved with too.
A driving license is required as you will on occasion to travel to local sites – there is a pool car available for use.
You will have previous experience in an IT support role, particularly with networking, SQL and implementing performance improving applications. Experience of a number of hardware and software applications is also essential, as is a relevant qualification in helpdesk support. You must have excellent communication skills, and a strong customer focus coupled with an analytical approach to work.
