More about your role

As a Technical Manager, you'll play a key role in our regional Technical Team in the South East, reporting to the Senior Technical Manager. You'll be responsible for coordinating design information and managing the performance of external consultants, ensuring the accuracy and quality of strategies, specifications, and documentation across our developments.

You'll lead the approvals process for Building Control, planning conditions, warranties, and utilities, as well as managing road and sewer adoptions and easements. You'll contribute to multiple live schemes at once  with full involvement from preconstruction through to final handover.

Collaboration is central to your role: you'll work closely with colleagues in Commercial, Build, and Sales, ensuring that high-quality technical information supports the successful delivery of every project.

A strong understanding of current regulations is essential, as is commercial awareness in consultant appointments, scope writing, budget control, and invoice processing.

Please note:

  • You'll be asked to come into our office located near Kings Cross two days per week and the remaining three days working from home and travel to sites in Norfolk and Kent when the business requires. 

  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role

More about you

To be shortlisted for this role, you must have:

  • A technical background in housebuilding

  • Experience in engineering or architecture

We're particularly interested in candidates who have worked as a Technical Manager or Design Manager on multi-tenure residential schemes (including affordable rent, PRS, and market sale). Experience on complex or large-scale developments would be an advantage.

You'll bring:

  • Strong knowledge of different build methods, building regulations, and CDM compliance

  • Familiarity with the planning process and technical approvals

  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for quality and community
