Derwent FM are looking for a confident, inspirational General Manager to provide an operational lead to the Quays, Meadows and Copse student sites and to be responsible for the quality of service delivery and for student satisfaction relating to the residences and associated facilities.

What your role will be
As our General Manager you will have overall responsibility for day to day operations of the three sites.
The range of your duties will centre upon ensuring a safe and secure environment for our students. You will provide onsite leadership and vision to our FM team and as their line manager carry out that personal development plans and make sure that objectives are implemented and reviewed.You will work with demanding stakeholders and provide reporting and reassurance to the SPV boards demonstrating where we meet our contractual obligations and provide updates on project delivery SLA’s.
Health and Safety awareness and compliance is vital across the sites you manager.
You will have responsibility for the student experience on the residential campus from security, cleaning, and maintenance services.

This is a varied with no two days being the same. You will have responsibility for the running of the site and therefore will need as good level of understanding of facilities management and the associated legislation. A background working within the student accommodation sector is preferable. Ideally you will have used CAFM systems in a previous role. You will have a full awareness of Health & Safety legislation and the need for enforcement of safe methods of working
Our students are our onsite customers and you will be a point of contact for them, you will be a confident verbal and written communicator. You will work closely with demanding senior stakeholders ideally within a similar field or sector as higher education. Customer service skills are key to success in this post.
You will have experience working with a team leader role or with the management of a team.
