More about your role
This role will focus on creating, driving and delivering the Customer centric strategic marketing plan to drive Retention results in our Places Leisure business. You'll ensure Business Partners' objectives and challenges are clearly understood so marketing and communication campaigns delivered by the Planning Team are relevant, cost-effective, and successful. Together with the wider Marketing Planning team, you'll oversee all department activities through a central tracker. You'll lead and develop a team of marketing and business partner experts, managing external suppliers as needed, and collaborate across the Comms team to coordinate delivery. You'll lead the annual and quarterly planning cycles, act as the main contact for Senior Leaders in your business area, and manage marketing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Using your experience and judgement, you'll make key decisions on resource prioritisation and create targeted content where it adds the most value.
The Essential Criteria for this role is listed below.
- Proven ability to lead a team of specialist marketing professionals to successfully deliver briefs requiring collaboration across multiple disciplines, including Internal Communication, External Communication, Digital, Content, and Creative teams. Line or team management experience is preferred.
- Over four years' experience in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies focused on acquisition and retention, with a track record of implementing and monitoring these strategies for successful outcomes.
- Skilled at translating business objectives, challenges, and problems into clear, actionable marketing briefs that enable fast and commercially effective marketing responses. Strong planning and project management skills are essential.
- Experienced in building and maintaining a network of relationships across a large, matrix-structured organisation, providing guidance and advice to senior stakeholders.
- Proficient in data analytics and reporting, using insights to ensure campaigns and marketing activities meet required acquisition targets.

You'll lead a team of specialist marketing professionals, coordinating multiple disciplines like Internal and External Communications, Digital, Content, and Creative teams to successfully meet briefs—line management experience is preferred. With over four years' experience, you'll develop and deliver sales and marketing strategies focused on retention, monitoring their success effectively. You'll translate business challenges into clear marketing briefs, using strong planning and project management skills. Building relationships across a large, matrix organisation, you'll provide guidance to senior stakeholders. You'll be skilled in data analytics to drive campaign success, able to multitask and prioritise under pressure, and confidently present complex marketing concepts and recommendations to audiences at all levels, including Directors.
