More about your role

Places for People IT department's strategic aim is to support and partner with the business functions to proactively deliver innovative digital solutions and create technology platforms that allow our diverse Group to meet and exceed its strategic aims, ensuring that people are our first priority. Our Developments business has identified a need to move from our Group ERP offering, Unit 4 Business World to COINS, to facilitate this we are looking for Project Manager to help in the implementation of COINS.

Working as part of the wider IT function, alongside the Developments IT Programme Manager, you will be the lead PM for the COINS implementation. You will manage the end to end integration of key functionality (finance, capital, stock and procurement) and wider business processes across our Developments and Group businesses into COINS. You will be managing a project team composed of permanent and fixed-term employees working in IT and business teams alongside third-party vendor resources.

Key deliverables include, but are not limited to:

  • Full project implementation/delivery plan including resource requirements
  • Project RAID log and weekly project status reporting
  • Successful integration of COINS into the Developments business

This role is home based however significant travel will be required both to our IT Shared Service in Preston and to our Development offices across the UK. Initially offered as 12 month FTC with an further extension likely.

More about you

We are looking for a skilled Project Manager who has managed many large-scale implementation / transfer ERP projects. Our preference would be that you have experience with COINS implementations, however we are open to individuals who have transferred finance and procurement modules for other large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle etc. It would also be highly advantageous if you have worked in the construction or civil engineering sector and have a knowledge of CIS sub-contractor processes, and procure to pay.

In addition to your extensive experience in delivering systems from start to finish we are looking for someone with strong stakeholder management experience, you will be working for and with a range of Executives, Senior Managers and managing multiple internal & external stakeholders including non-IT staff.
