Osterna, part of RMG and Places for People Group, is looking for an experienced Fire Safety Manager to join a proactive and highly successful team of Health & Safety Professionals.
Where will I be working?
Remote role based working attached to a local office - predominantly from home however UK wide travel is essential for this role
About the Role
Are you passionate about fire safety and compliance? Osterna is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Fire Safety Manager to deliver strategic fire safety advice and support across our business. You'll oversee Fire Risk Assessments, Asset Testing, and Door Compliance, ensuring Osterna remains compliant with all current and emerging fire safety legislation and best practice.
As our Fire Safety Manager, you'll play a key role in developing and delivering training, representing Osterna at fire safety meetings, and providing expert consultation to clients, partners, and enforcement bodies. You'll drive a robust programme of compliance checks and lead a team of senior risk assessors, championing a culture of safety, compliance, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic fire safety advice and support across Osterna.
- Oversee Fire Risk Assessments (FRA), Asset Testing, and Door Compliance.
- Develop and deliver fire safety training for colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation, statutory requirements, and industry guidance.
- Represent Osterna at fire safety meetings and with external stakeholders.
- Offering guidance a team of senior risk assessors, ensuring high standards of performance.
- Drive a robust programme of FRA and compliance checks across all property types.
- Act as the principal authority on fire safety within the organisation.
About You
- Ideally you will have a level 5 Fire Safety Diploma
- BAFE accredited validator
- NEBOSH diplomas in occupation Health and Safety and Fire Safety
- In-depth and current knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations.
- Familiarity with SP205 standards and fire risk assessment protocols.
- Proven experience in line management and leading fire safety professionals.
- Member of a recognised fire safety body (e.g., Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM)) or equivalent knowledge
- Exceptional interpersonal and client-facing skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and confidently at all levels.
- Full UK drivers license and access to own vehicle
