More about your role  

In this role, you will lead the Development's Finance department comprising of a central team and five regional teams, ensuring strong financial governance and overseeing management accounts, forecasts, and annual planning. As a key member of the Developments Board and senior leadership teams, you'll collaborate with the Group Managing Director, Developments to shape strategy and support business execution. 

You'll work with the Group finance team to set strategic direction and ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements, addressing any issues swiftly. Preparing quarterly performance updates for the Development Committee will be part of your responsibilities. 

Fostering an inclusive and engaged Finance team, you'll promote professional development and a culture of continuous improvement. You'll oversee financial modelling for new opportunities, guiding investment decisions to meet KPIs, while ensuring clear communication of Developments' goals through Regional Board meetings and Roadshows. Lastly, you'll manage Work In Progress and cash positions to align with the Group's risk appetite. 

 

More about you  

It is important you are an inspiring leader with significant experience of housing development at a senior management level within a complex organisation, capable of influencing all stakeholders. You excel in challenging and operating effectively at the leadership level, demonstrating strong decision-making, strategic thinking, and planning skills. Your excellent communication abilities allow you to influence the entire organization and engage effectively with external partners. You have a proven track record in continuous improvement and driving financial performance. 

 

It is preferred for you to also have experience working in a matrix environment, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. Your background includes roles in customer-centric or social enterprise sectors, along with expertise in appraising large-scale, mixed-use development projects. You are knowledgeable in capital/revenue accounting, commercial evaluation, financial control, and treasury management, and you have prior experience with joint venture arrangements and managing senior banking facilities. 

 

Experience & Skills 

  • Wealth of experience from a housing development background.  
  • Experience managing a large-scale team of around 20+ colleagues.
