More about your role

As the Academy Quality and Governance Officer in our newly established Training Academy – PfP Thrive - you will lead on the implementation and delivery of the Academy's Quality Assurance framework for our apprenticeship programs, overseeing internal quality processes and reporting. You'll build and oversee a matrix team of quality assurers, ensuring effective oversight and performance management in line with our Quality Strategy. You'll be working closely with the leadership and tutor team to develop impactful apprenticeship curriculums and ensuring they are delivered to our highest standards, continually driving performance improvement.

You'll also lead on all compliance activities such as enrolment, eligibility checks and learner returns to ensure we meet funding regulations and ESFA, DfE, and Ofsted requirements.

Additionally, you'll liaise with awarding bodies to arrange end point assessments for apprentices aswell as lead on any relevant audit activities.  You'll serve as Deputy Safeguarding Lead, Deputy Ofsted Nominee, and be a Governance Board representative in the Manager's absence.

This role will be based at our new Training Academy facility in Derby.  Due to the nature of the role, it is expected the successful candidate will be on site at least 3 days per week.

The Essential Criteria for this role is listed below.

  • Must have prior experience of apprenticeship governance and oversight, specifically eligibility criteria, ILR returns, ESFA funding regulations, DAS system
  • Must have expertise in end point assessment processes, ideally you'll have worked with a variety of end point assessment organisations previously
  • Must have working knowledge of quality assurance requirements in relation to apprenticeships, you'll be able to implement a QA strategy and oversee its effectiveness
  • Experienced in safeguarding and prevent regulations and requirements, this role will be the Deputy Safeguarding Lead

More about you

The ideal applicant will have strong experience in the apprenticeship sector, with a deep understanding of the Ofsted inspection framework and ESFA funding rules as well as Keeping Children Safe in Education requirements.

Your background in quality assurance and apprenticeship governance allows you to analyse performance against core KPIs, produce dashboards and reports to inform leadership of progress and gaps and make decisions with a key attention to detail. You're skilled in providing feedback, supporting performance management and driving improvements.

Ideally, you're self-motivated, resilient, and thrive in high-pressure environments. You can communicate at an executive level and with multiple external stakeholders effectively and professionally.
